Dimitra Petsa is a designer from Athens, Greece. Her label Di Petsa specializes in custom work—specifically, the ‘wet look’. I imitated her work for this project.
Petsa draws inspiration from the process of reclamation of the inherent wetness of the female body. She recognizes the ways our wetness has been censored. Pulling us away from our roots.
Petsa’s background is in performance art. This translates directly into her clothing design.
“The wearer as the performer, the clothing as the script.” - Dimitra Petsa
Celebrities adorned by Petsa include Gigi and Bella Hadid, Lizo, and Megan Thee Stallion.

I’m deeply inspired by Petsa’s ability to tame nature within a garment. She uses her craft to challenge the historical oppression of feminine presenting people.
I’m creatively invigorated and empowered by the message behind Petsa’s work and words. “I felt all this oppression and censorship in this need for dryness—pretending we’re not wet, that we don't come from water.
“I wanted to create a garment that you can actually wear—you don’t have to throw water on yourself. It took us six months to develop and create this technique." - Dimitra Petsa, 2020
This is my attempt at Di Petsa’s “Wet Look.”
