I’ve been interested in the idea of harnessing a cloud within the clothes and products I make for a while. This was my first somewhat effective attempt. 

I used the freehand quilting machine we have in the prototyping lab at CSU to create organic, swoopy quilting lines on the jacket. The outer layer is a thin charmeuse fabric quilted to batting. 

I chose a bright blue lining, visible beneath the quilted layer—blue skies peeking through. I made this jacket for my first patternmaking class and had a blast doing it.
